Many people walk through life searching for significance, meaning and relationship. Perhaps you have come to our site looking for the same things. We are glad you're here!
At First Baptist Church we believe God has called us to lead people to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and then to offer assistance as they learn to follow Him. God's plan for finding significance, meaning and relationship is clearly spelled out in the Bible. It is defined by a commitment to the truth of the Bible, and achieved through a personal expression of faith as you consider these truths...
- Realize you are not good enough to deserve or earn heaven.
"There is no one who does good, not even one." - Romans 3:12 - Admit that you have sinned against God and ask Him for forgiveness.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
...the wages of sin is death" - Romans 3:23; 6:23 - Believe Jesus died and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for your sins.
"...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures" - I Corinthians 15:3-4 - Trust in Jesus alone to save you.
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12 - Repent. Repentance goes beyond just asking God to forgive you. It is a decision
to make Jesus the master (the Lord) of your life.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am sinful and I need your forgiveness. I believe that You died to pay the penalty for my sin. I want to turn from my sin and follow You instead. I invite You to come into my heart and life. In Jesus' name Amen."
