Things are changing on Main St. in Johnson City. UHS is continuing to expand and purchase properties
as they develop. Sounds like the headlines in today's news, but in reality, this began some time ago.
As many as twenty years ago UHS inquired about the possibility of purchasing our property to accommodate
expansion. Praise God for the leadership of FBJC who were given the vision of moving the ministry to
a different location and led the congregation in approving the purchase of a parcel of land on Reynolds
Road; the first step in fulfilling the vision.

Time and time again over the past twenty years, the congregation, under visionary leadership,
continued to develop that property and move toward the ultimate fulfillment of that vision. Much
has changed in twenty years, and we have been given the privilege of "Fulfilling the Vision".
Reflecting back, one can only marvel at the things God has done. Beginning with our capital campaign
"Come and Fill This Place", God's people have responded to the need and even given tens of thousands of
dollars above that which was pledged. In a matter of mere weeks, the best offer on our current property
increased by nearly 50%. Even on a personal level the members have been blessed with a sense of
overwhelming unity as they have made decisions to move forward with the sale and building project.
Indeed the path to this point has been well lit by our God who has confirmed His intent to fulfill
the vision He had placed in both the leadership and people of First Baptist Church.
