First Baptist Church was started in 1891. The original church building was burned to make way for the current church building which was completed in 1923.

In 1932, Baptist Bible Seminary was begun in the church, and later moved to Clarks Summit, PA in 1968.
 
First Baptist Church has as many as 700 in attendance on an average Sunday Morning.

With an additional education wing, the church remains in the village of Johnson City west of Binghamton, NY, on the corner of Main Street and Baldwin Street. A new 80,000 sqft facility is being designed for our property north of the Oakdale Mall on Reynolds Road slightly over 2 miles away. 		First Baptist Church
Though the church is over 100 years old, most of our members have come in the last decade. Typically, 10-20% of those present on Sunday are not members. First Baptist Church is committed to a dynamic, culturally relevant ministry based on the authority of the Word of God whose purpose is to impact the our congregation, our community and our world through preaching, teaching, evangelism, discipleship and counseling.
