The Lord called Pastor Jim Murphy to be our head pastor in April of 2002.
With a ministry built solidly upon the Word of God, his vision is to impact our congregation,
our community and our world through preaching, teaching, evangelism, discipleship and counseling.
A 1982 graduate of Practical Bible Training School (Davis College), he earned his Bachelor's of Church Ministries in 1987 from Liberty University and his Master's of Christian Counseling from Liberty University in 1991. Pastor Jim has served as both a youth pastor and head pastor in area churches, in addition to having served as the Vice President of Student Development and the Chair of the Counseling Department at Practical Bible College (Davis College). Pastor Jim has used his gifts of preaching and teaching in various settings such as pulpit supply, retreat/conference speaking, interim work, etc. He believes the future is bright for First Baptist Church, is praying and seeking God's will in everything, and expecting God's blessing for all. |

| Chris Tracy - Associate Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship | |

Pastor Chris came to First Baptist in March of 2005. Born and raised in Starrucca, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Temple University in 1989 with a BA in psychology, Practical Bible College in 1999 with an AAS, and from Baptist Bible Seminary in 2004 with a Masters of Ministry. He has served as an interim pastor, youth pastor, and assistant pastor for churches in both New York and Pennsylvania. Pastor Chris has also served as the Director of Student Ministries and Associate Dean for Student Development at Practical Bible College (Davis College). Pastor Chris' desire for himself and other believers is to see individuals grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, fulfill their calling in Him, develop loving unity as a body and be genuine witnesses for Christ in a world with desperate needs. |

| Joel Garrison - Assistant Pastor of Youth | |

Pastor Joel was born and raised locally in Nichols, New York. He graduated from Messiah College in 1990 with a BA in Sports Medicine. For the 13 years following, Joel served as an athletic trainer for two Harrisburg, PA area high schools during which time he dedicated his talents and leadership to the youth of his local church in Shiremanstown, PA. First Baptist officially welcomed him as their Assistant Pastor of Youth in the spring of 2005. The teens in the church enjoy not only his biblically-based teaching, but his inexhaustible energy and enthusiasm for living a Christ-centered life. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA. Pastor Joel's passion is to see the teens live a life of Godly influence and impact their world for Christ. |

A native of Vestal, NY, Matt returned to the Southern Tier and First Baptist in 2006 after 15 years in the Mid-Atlantic region. After graduating from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, he spent 10 years working in operations, sales and administration for both public and private institutions in VA and PA. As the Church Administrator Matt offers oversight to the churches financial operations and budgetary processes as well as human resource matters. Additional responsibilities include lending general supervision to the use of and improvements to church grounds and facilities. His desire is to see that the churches financial and human resources are employed in an orderly, efficient and effective manner to the glory of God. Email: Matt Johnson |

Joyce King is our Director of Women's Ministries. She is dedicated to serving First Baptist through her leadership of both group and individual discipleship programs for women, women's Bible Studies and a variety of women's programs designed to encourage personal growth and foster community evangelism. Joyce attended Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA and was a pastor's wife for twenty-two years before coming to First Baptist Church in 1994. Email: Joyce King |

Eric has been a member of the ministry at First Baptist since 2001. A graduate of Davis College, he earned his Bachelor of Religious Education degree in 2005. His studies focused specifically on counseling, youth, and pastoral ministry. Before completing his studies, Eric spent a year developing his skills at the Brookside Children's Home in Charleston, WV. The Director of Children's Ministries supervises Children's Church as well as the AWANA and VBS programs. Additionally he gives oversight to the children's Sunday School ministries and administers the Child Protection policy. His wife Harmony is a valued member of the church's music ministry in addition to serving as the church's choir director. Email: Eric Flint |

Gerry Fuller is the Facilities Supervisor at First Baptist Church. Prior to his nearly 18 years of service with the church, Gerry employed his gifts in facilities ministries at two Christian schools. He and his wife Dawn, who serves with him at FBJC, have been married for 30 years. A graduate of Harpursville Central Schools, Gerry has also completed coursework at Davis College.
