| Peter pastors the mother, or founding, Church of Peresip. There is a great shortage of pastors in Ukraine, so he pastors other churches in Odessa and the village of Makarovo. One of these, "The Bookstore Church," has been our sister church since 1997. Early in his ministry, Pastor Peter's congregation worshipped underground while the authorities sought to imprison him. Following perestroika, independence and religious freedom in Ukraine has allowed for expansive growth of the church. Pastor Peter and his family continue to minister in various ways to a people challenged by economic hardship, crime and alcoholism. |
